So I do have one prospect on the horizon for a job. I’m not completely crazy. But honestly, most sane people would have waited to see if they HAD the new job before quitting the old one. But the thought of trying to muster up the enthusiasm for a brand new school year just wasn’t in me. And even though there is less than a 50% chance that the new company will hire me…I guess it was the catalyst I needed to leap into the unknown, and for that I will be eternally grateful.
This much I know. The new job, if I get it, is not my “dream job.” It is a step in the right direction. But it isn’t it. It will be working as an instructional designer for a major corporation helping them to develop some training materials concerning some new software they are developing for their employees. Again, not the stuff dreams are made up. Not for me anyway. But it would mean a job experience OUTSIDE of education, and with a company that is highly respected. The job, if I get it, would only be for 6 months to a year anyway. Once the materials are developed there would be no further need for my services. And that’s okay. And the reason I am so willing to do it, and EXCITED to have the opportunity.
