Thanks Roberta, and everyone for your positive feedback.
I think the unconscious is an amazing thing…particularly the way it communicates using images and symbols. Each one of the items in the collage does have a personal meaning to me - although I didn’t really focus too long and hard on what I would put streaming out of her head. As an example, the ballerina represents me as a little girl. I never took ballet lessons or dreamed of being a ballerina…but I remember doing my version of pirouettes in the living room when I was three. Dragonflies have always seemed like magical creatures to me; when they appear and dance and dart around me…I always see it as a sign that my Higher Self and the Universe are winking at me. The Eiffel Tower of course speaks to the artist in me….having an adventure in Paris as an artist. Notice the watch face has no hands…that really has dual meanings; I am terrible with time so clocks without hands would be great thing for me; but more importantly, when I am creating anything…I tend to lose all track of time.
This is so wonderful! I love what is coming out of her head, a head full of treasures, as it should be! Amazing talent in your ability to express this, lovely!
looking at your work has refreshed my mind. yet i still torture myself with a square format. i woke up today with your ‘wide open’ bridging troubled sleep and guilty wakefulness. so i grope my way to my computer and reach out to your page …
