Off For a Few Days

April 18th, 2008

I am going to the Abraham-Hicks workshop in San Antonio this weekend so will not post for a few days. I am very excited. Its been a while since I actively (or should I say consciously) practiced my spirituality. I worked with the Lazaris material for quite a long time, but for some reason, it just sort of fell away and I stopped going to workshops and listening to tapes.

I have tried to get back “into it” but just couldn’t. Something was stopping me. And then one day I stumbled across the Abraham-Hicks material. I was amazed I hadn’t heard of Esther and Jerry Hicks before. But I hadn’t. And quite frankly, I wasn’t looking for more channeled material. But I guess I was, and just didn’t know it. A few months ago while I was browsing the web, I followed one link and then another and then another…until eventually I found myself at their website. So I started reading some books and looking at their free videos on YouTube (see one of my favorites below).

In reality there is nothing “new” here. It is very very similar to the Lazaris material. Of course it is. It is “universal law” so of course the information will be the same. But I guess why I was tired of working with Lazaris is easy for me to understand now that I’ve read some of the Abraham-Hicks books. The information is very straight-forward. There isn’t a lot of metaphorical speaking, like with Lazaris. It is basic, down to the point, easy to understand and USE.

So Saturday will be my first opportunity to go to a workshop. Mark and I are going together. I am really excited. Its been a long time since I’ve had this opportunity and I am looking forward to being in the presence of this awesome energy and surrounded by a room full of people who are also working with the type of material. I have missed being a part of it.

Saw your site via IF. I also enjoy and learn from the teachings of Abraham-Hicks. Curious about the workshop. Did you benefit from attending?

Nice art. I love the subtle tones you use. Great images!

    Hi Amy,
I absolutely loved it. For years, I worked with the Lazaris material. (more channeled work). I liked it, but I always felt is was a bit “lofty” for me. That’s not a good word. But it’ll do for now. What I mean is…Lazaris uses a lot of metaphor and “story telling” in their work. Its very lyrical and magical. And the actual workshops were amazing. Each workshop always had several guided meditations in them that were amazing as well.

But quite frankly, when I left the workshop, I felt like the “spell” had broken and I always had a difficult time translating what I learned and listened to, to my “real” life.

Not so with Abraham. They make such sense. Everything seems so much more “matter of fact”. Their message is very straight-forward and grounded. I find it quite refreshing.

I think it’s so funny how “cheeky” both Abraham and Lazaris can be. That is one of their greatest similarities - like metaphysical comedians.

Have you ever been to an Abraham workshop in person?

I have never been to a conference and I have never heard of Lazaris! I have read and listened to some of the teachings of Abraham and I have really grown from the information. Took me a bit to apply it to my life but now that I have I am happy and/or I can find happiness more easily than I ever could and I like that power. I might check out a seminar someday. I bet it is great to be there in person.
